Au-delà de cette évidence, il en vient une autre, parmi les plus beaux paniers d'éclisses de châtaignier faits en Limousin, ceux de Maurice Javelaud tenaient bonne place. Par centaines, paniers e deschas (panières) sont nés de l'alliance de ses doigts et du couteau. D'un savoir-faire acquis auprès de son père durant ses jeunes années il développa une véritable activité vannière une fois à la retraite. Qui, dans ce petit coin du Limousin, ne l'a pas rencontré derrière son banc de paniers dans toutes les fêtes artisanales du pays ? C'est dans son village de Bournazeau (commune d'Oradour-sur-Vayres) où il a toujours vécu que nous avons rencontré Maurice au printemps 2009. Au cours de deux après-midi, nous avons suivi les étapes de fabrication d'un panier dans l'obscurité de la vieille maison qui lui servait d'atelier. Les explications sont souvent succinctes, parfois sibyllines "Qu'es mas mesuras a me !"... Il reste à voir, à observer, à décrypter un geste, des réflexions, des attitudes, tant de choses héritées de siècles de savoir paysan en matière de vannerie traditionnelle. Soubrenie est né en 1920 et décédé en 2005. Très concerné par la vie de son village, dès sa retraite il a participé de manière très active à la vie associative. Il a écrit des pièces de théâtre (La sopa a la grimaça, Quand lo liech s’esbolha, Las nòças d’òr de la Julieta e del pair Tianet et los Enuegs del Pair Tianet) qui ont connu un beau succès avant d'être publiées dans Lemouzi. Antoine Soubrenie a aussi écrit quelques contes, les "nhòrles", que nous entendons dans cet enregistrement, et composé des chansons et musique avec l’aide de son compère musicien M. Mayjonade. Thomas, sabotier et joueur de vielle, nous parle de son métier de sabotier, de son goût pour la musique... avec le concours de sa femme ils évoquent son surnom, "la Burette",  puis le dépeuplement du pays, son fils René parle de sa proximité avec son père (la musique, la saboterie et le conseil municipal). Cet entretien est ponctué de morceaux du répertoire local (enregistrés dans la cuisine, Eugène à la vielle et René à la cornemuse 16 pouces) ainsi que d'une chanson de Léon Branchet "Mos socs" (mes sabots) sans doute interprétée par Irène Besson (mais qui n'a pas été enregistrée à cette occasion).  Président du groupe folklorique « Los velhadors de Sent-Junian », Robert Dagnas a parcouru durant les années 1950-1960 les routes du Limousin, armé de son magnétophone, à la recherche de chanteurs, conteurs et musiciens du pays. Jean (dit Marcel) Auger est né à Availles-Limouzine (Vienne) le 6 novembre 1909 et est décédé à Confolens le 19 mai 1993. Il fit partie, de 1927 à 1932, du groupe "les Veilleurs de Saint Germain" du peintre et folkloriste Jean Teilliet. Au début des années 60, M. Auger avait rejoint, pour un temps, "Lo Gerbo Baudo" de Confolens. Enregistré en présence de danseurs, M. Auger interprète là bourrées, marches, scottischs et quadrilles, des airs qu'il jouait avec [Georges] Charpentier mais dont il "ne se rappelle plus bien... y a tellement longtemps que je ne les ai pas joués !" Pierre Boulanger nous a aimablement donné les indications suivantes : En N° 1. La "bourrée creusoise" (?) "Los as-tu vist los tetons de ma mia Los as-tu vist per queu petit partus ? Son blancs son gris los tetons de ma mia Son blancs son gris color de la perdric" En N° 4. En N° 13. Le Pas d'Eté, puis la Pastourelle. Le nom des figures des quadrilles pouvait varier ; ces quadrilles étaient souvent faits de morceaux déjà connus (marches, polkas) que l'on arrangeait au gré des musiciens ; et en sens inverse des airs détachés d'un quadrille se jouaient souvent en marche. En N° 16. La Poule, figure de quadrille. Sur une version simplifiée, Sylvain Mautrait avait mis des paroles de son cru: "Dans Confolens, la belle ville / Il y a des filles en quantité...." et il jouait ça comme marche de noces. Beyssas nous parler de sa passion pour le dessin et la sculpture sur ardoise, ensuite il nous parle du travail aux ardoisières de Travassac, les différents métiers (les mineurs, les treuillistes, les tailleurs, les cliveurs) la modernisation... Pour conclure cette partie il nous parle de la géologie puis de l'histoire des ardoisières. Cet enregistrement sur les ardoisières a servi de base à un article de Clair Mahé, "Henri Beyssas, tailleur de pierre, vous parle", publié dans le Lemouzi n° 82 d'avril 1982 (p. 185-190). Sur le second enregistrement (à partir de 27'57''), nous retrouvons M. Beyssas chantant de nombreuses chansons en occitan et en français : des chansons sur la guerre de 70 qu'il a entendues dans les carrières, des chansons traditionnelles et quelques créations. <a href="https://la-biaca.org/items/show/12854#?c=0&m=0&s=0&cv=0&xywh=-357%2C0%2C1313%2C928">Quelques textes de chansons transcrits par Clair Mahé ►</a> M. Dans une première partie, l'enregistrement d'une répétition d'un groupe folklorique que nous n'avons pas identifié. Ensuite des intervenants (M. Mathias et Mlle Pailler) parlent de la commune, les monuments, dolmen, fontaines, tilleul, église, les dévotions de la St Étienne , l'économie sinistrée ... On retrouve le groupe folklorique avec une intéressante chanson "l'autre jour en m'y promenant" et quelques morceaux moins originaux. Pour finir sur cette bande un bonus, un morceau d'une émission de Jacques Bernier, les couleurs du temps (la bande a sans doute été réemployée) Président du groupe folklorique « Los velhadors de Sent Junian », Robert Dagnas a parcouru durant les années 1950-1960 les routes du Limousin, armé de son magnétophone, à la recherche de chanteurs, conteurs et musiciens du pays. Il animait, grâce à ces enregistrements, une émission hebdomadaire à « Radio Limoges ».
