Ici, la première de ces collectes, réalisée au lieu-dit Lavert, auprès de Mme Marcelle Laval alors âgée de 61 ans. Il y est traité de l'apprentissage des histoires et des danses auprès des grands-parents, des veillées, de la fabrication des paniers et des "palhassons", de celle de l'huile de noix, du pain, de la manière de chauffer le four avec des ajoncs, de la récolte du petit bois pour faire les tourtous, du râtelier à pain... Ensuite Mme Laval présente aux collecteurs des vieux outils et des ustensiles de cuisine (las breges, l'ola, la tortreira), l'interview se termine par un intéressant témoignage sur le rucher et son exploitation. * Nicole et Georges Delcros, tous deux enseignants militants, passionnés de folklore et de traditions locales, ont beaucoup collecté la mémoire locale. Octave Bariant (1899-1993)  fut chanteur soliste à la chorale Les enfants de Limoges et participa en 1933 à la fondation du groupe foklorique L’Églantino do Limouzi. En 1938, l’éditeur de musique et disquaire Limougeaud Lagueny, boulevard Carnot, le présenta à la société Columbia, pour laquelle il fit trois 78 tours reprenant des chansons limousines de tradition et des compositions plus récentes. Sur cette cassette, ces 78 tours enregistrés en 1938 : Lo chabretaïre, Un jorn dins l'estolha, La gerba bauda (paroles Jean Rebier, musique André Le Gentile, La Briança (paroles de Joseph Mazabraud, musique de François Sarre), Lo turlututu, et Lo cuer de ma mia de Simon Poylevé (1620-1697). Ensuite des airs de la chorale de L' Églantino do Lemouzi Bonjour Bergerette, La Chanson des bouchers de Limoges, La bourrée de Brigueil. Puis une biographie d'Octave Bariant, (sans doute une émission de radio dans lequel il interprète des extraits du dernier acte de Mignon, de Les mousquetaires au couvent et de la sérénade de Gounod, accompagné au piano par Mme Marquet. Dans la dernière partie de ce document on le retrouve, âgé de 82 ans, accompagné à l'accordéon par Jacques Dunoyer dans un répertoire Limousin : La Briança, La Maiada. Marcillou était né en 1922 et avait exercé le métier d'agriculteur à la Chapelle Haute, commune de Brignac-la-Plaine où nous avons aimablement été reçus au mois de décembre 2003. René nous a chanté plusieurs chansons et dit quelques histoires dont quelques unes des fameuses histoires de Camille Barret, bien connues dans la région. Informateur de qualité, nous sommes revenus le voir à plusieurs reprises, notamment pour qu'il nous initie aux règles de la Bourre, jeu de carte beaucoup pratiqué jusque dans les années 70.
